LKA NRW

The Criminalistic-Criminological Research Unit and the Central Evaluation Unit (ZEVA) are organizationally integrated into the NRW State Office of Criminal Investigation. These areas of crime research, cause and effect analysis are necessary in order to obtain valid findings with regard to the origins of crime, specific crime trends or the effectiveness of police measures.

The KKF conducts empirical research projects on the analytical examination of the crime situation and development, the causes and manifestations of crime, the security situation, the citizens' sense of security and police work in North Rhine-Westphalia.
